If your name is as uncomplicated as "Ali Khan" or "Neha Sharma",you wouldn't understand my pain.To carry a name like "Saniya Aijaz" isn't an easy job.Specially since the arrival of the legendary Sania Mirza,I have to explicitly stress over the extra "y" in my name,which people ask has been placed WHY if i could do without it.Wherever I go,may it be a doctor's clinic,a library or a stationary,whenever my name is asked and I tell them that I'm Saniya,the common joke that i get to hear is,"Ohh..Sania Mirza!!"(followed by a laughter!).Puhleaze people ! I'm fed up of this (not so funny) joke.I have my own identity,I'm ME,don't relate me with someone else just because our names sound similar.Everbody mis-spells my name,right from my friends to teachers to shopkeepers who make receipts in my name :X..Grrrrr.The worst part comes when people on Orkut(complete strangers)scrap me saying,"Ohh ! So you are a big fan of Sania mirza huh?So what's your real name miss?" You can imagine my frustration then !The story doesn't end here because even if people manage to get my name right,i haven't met a single person who would have pronounced/spelt my surname correctly.It's always either Aizaz,Aiyaz,Aijaj,Ejaz or worse Ayaz but never AIJAZ(not even by chance!)
Now whatever had to happen to me has already been done...but just a tip for you all,let your kid's name be as simple as possible and he would lead a little more happier life !
