Utopia...Lost..And..Found !

A few days back,I was having this conversation with a friend who is in much a similar situation like mine and infact like many of us.I must appreciate his sense of observation and congratulate him(& thank him)for what he said to me that day.Of late I've realised that though i come across as an extrovert to most people,I actually am much of an introvert.I have this mask on all the time,a protective wall or perhaps just my cancerian shell which doesn't let people see the real me ! Anyway, this aint what i wanted to tell you about today ;).So,during this conversation with this friend(who doesn't happen to be very close),we were talking about the usual stuff,i.e.the most common questions to me these days, like,"What next?","Enjoying your hols huh?","So,wossup wid ya?","What're your plans?"etc etc etc.And I was the usual,"Nothin much yaa","Just bugged","Yep,just waiting for my DOJ.","Looking forward to a better life ahead."etc etc.
Suddenly he said,"Saniya,so often we say that we are waiting for such and such occassion or a certain thing to happen and THEN perhaps life would be easy.People ask us questions like, "Where do you see yourself five years from now?"We set targets for ourselves,an imaginary mark beyond which everything would be perfect. You may call it hope or blind faith but we do believe that one fine day we'd be able to sit back and tell ourselves that this was the day we were waiting for all our lives, the day we'd ask for no more, the day we'd expect no more, the day we struggled and compromised for our entires lives ! During this journey how many times do we realise that today is the tomorrow we were talking about yesterday? Will there be an annoucement from the heavens, how would we actually know that the day has arrived that everything, every single damn thing that affects our lives is now perfectly ok (And is such a situation feasible ?)! Waiting for our destination to arrive,do we not forget to identify the pleasures of the journey itself?Who knows , perhaps today was the best day of your life ?How can you be so sure of the tomorrow which may or may not arrive even ! So,stop waiting Saniya.Life aint that bad.Live like today is THE DAY,so that atleast you don't regret about it later if God forbid things get even worse."
I found myself smiling and after a long time i actually meant the smile....

Oh well....though the guy is right to some extent, but not thinking about future amd worries is something its hard as catching the wind..... and perhaps, at times thinking about future is joy and brings happiness .... for instance , u cud think " i gonna have a cute, intelligent gal or guy " or like... " i want to be in so and so place in a better position " etc bring some joy , a spirit .. and its doesn't always be a expectation , its an ambition , a self motivation ...dream or a target/goal setting.. etc etc ......thinking of having it really is not bad after all ah ? .... afterall thinking is part of our life ...u can't keep ur mind void ....just go outdoor lick ice-cream, except when it’s chocolate-dipped, in which case, bite the coating off first and then proceed with the licking... the same way as i do ;) ...
